On the left is the first version of “Hannah Face” which was painted in 50 minutes with a 2.5″ house painting brush. It was done during a church service while on stage. It has been just sitting around since I started it a few months ago, but I finally got it out and worked on it again this weekend. Here she is “Hannah Face” – 48″ x 48″ oil on Birch Board. It will be premiered at the “Board and Others” art show at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, along with 3 other paintings of mine including “Threshold”, a new self-portrait.
We took some action shots of our three kids for a framed mother’s day gift for my wife. Happy Mother’s day to all you Moms!
When I was asked to paint during the three main services for Calvary Community Church last week, Pastor Kirk DeWitt told me that he would be speaking on the Origin of Creativity. I had no idea what to paint. When I read the sermon notes, it said that one of God’s greatest creations was humanity. Our greatest role in creation, is pro-creation. So, I planned to paint one of each of my three children at each of the three services. Below you will see what we came up with. The Top one, “Lucy Face,” got sold right after the service that it was painted at.
