Rubber glove and zip ties

image

So, for some (good) reason I added a rubber glove to my bus road box. Good thing too… as you can see here, a finger works as a great seal for a vacuum leak I found in a ripped rubber elbow.

UPDATE —–> Being in a foriegn land (San Clemente, CA) for the week, I looked up “VW Bus Repair” thinking I would come up with something interesting in a beach town like SC.  Well, Bill Brewster Porsche Repair came up and in one of the reviews that read “…One hint, if you pull up to Bill in his VW Bus, don’t race him, it won’t be pretty!” so, I knew they would know a little something about my bus. Well, I putted in to the shop and said I had a couple of vacuum connectors that needed to be acquired. I asked if he had a line on them, one yes, one no. The one he could get is the same as the one pictured above… which I was grateful for. The other one, was fixed with some hi-temp two-part epoxy that he squirted on the hole. I secured it with a zip tie so it would not pop off, and away I rolled… after I gave him a $5 bill for the rubber elbow.
